Hi all, I'm a teacher here and The median home value here is around $164,500, which is actually reasonable.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 4 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 9 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
