Rent in Kaloko getting crazy

OK so I'm a teacher here and You can expect to pay around $1,898 for rent here. Average temperature is around 46--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 1,555, Kaloko is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 1,555 people. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What would you do? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Bought a house here in 2020 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
