Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Old Town. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in engineering. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Southern.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely challenging and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Fairview) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
