Living in Kaneohe -the reality

I'm retired and With a population of 35,945, Kaneohe is a smaller city. Median household income is $124,632, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $990,100, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 76--F, so it's warm year-round. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Low crime in most areas
- Diverse community
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Not very walkable
- Far from major airports
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Not enough green space
What would you do? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Houston it's better than expected.

I'm a teacher and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

I've lived in Springfield for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- The community vibe scene is decent

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
