Kansas City quality of life — am I missing something?
First post here. With a population of 155K, Kansas City is a mid-size city. The unemployment rate is 3.6%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 10 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
