Healthcare options in Kansas City?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $67,449 in Kansas City. Average temperature is around 55°F, so the weather is moderate. Median household income is $67,449, which feels about average for the area. The median home value here is around $227,000, which is actually reasonable. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Bought a house here in 2022 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Salt Lake City it's better than expected.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 45, moved here 9 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in Uptown and South, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The cost of living situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for young professionals. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- South: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $100K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The walkability is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
