OK so It's a a small town city with about 1,660 people. Homes are going for about $653,400 on average. Median household income is $113,611, which feels pretty solid for the area. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What do you all think? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great BBQ places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from San Francisco about 15 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is excellent.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value safety, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely challenging and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (The Heights) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely challenging and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Downtown) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Dating scene is rough.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Fairview. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in finance. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Southern.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Atlanta about 12 years ago. The main reasons were family and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is underrated.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Feel free to reach out with questions..
