What I wish I knew before living in Kearney

I'm a college student here and Poverty rate is 2.6%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $275,200, which seems about average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What are your go-to spots?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Old Town. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in tech. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
