Considering Kearns metro township vs Boston -help me decide
Military spouse here. The unemployment rate is 4.3%, which is about average. Homes are going for about $334,400 on average. Median household income is $83,355, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,644/month for a decent place. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What are your go-to spots? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Atlanta about 7 years ago. The main reasons were work and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is average.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Tampa about 3 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Good luck with whatever you decide..
