Top 5 things I love about Kearny

Anyone else feel this way? Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Anyone in a similar situation?

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The school system scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 1 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into running, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 7 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in finance. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The dating scene is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much reasonable but now it's solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Raleigh about 11 years ago. The main reasons were school and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is average.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in South. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Definitely worth checking out..
