Considering Keasbey vs Dallas -help me decide

Longtime lurker here, Been living here since 2022. Poverty rate is 39.1%, which is higher than I expected. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 8 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in retail. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Hope this helps!.
