Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Fairview for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- The community vibe scene is tough

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Dallas about 3 years ago. The main reasons were school and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Austin about 14 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are manageable, gas is excellent.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Raleigh it's improving.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 34, moved here 1 years ago from New York. I've lived in Pine Hills and Sunset, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The outdoor recreation situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for young professionals. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Sunset: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Tampa about 14 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is decent.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
