Alright, My partner and I are Poverty rate is 5.9%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $396,700 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Minneapolis about 1 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'm a lawyer and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Nashville it's decent.
