Anyone regret moving to Kendale Lakes?

I'm a college student here and The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $69,150 in Kendale Lakes. Average temperature is around 77--F, so it's warm year-round. Crime rate is something to consider -Kendale Lakes sits at 231.7 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in West for 6 years. Moved from Austin for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Bugs and humidity in summer. And housing market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 7/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Eastside for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
- The nightlife scene is solid

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much established but now it's tough.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from LA about 6 years ago. The main reasons were school and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.
