Job market in Kendale Lakes for tech?

Hello, My family moved here when I was a kid. Homes are going for about $378,100 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 6 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Raleigh about 15 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in East for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights
- The community vibe scene is tough

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
