Things that make Kendale Lakes unique

Random thought, I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $378,100 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Any advice would be great. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely challenging and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Westside) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in West for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- The cost of living scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great Southern places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a HR manager, 25, moved here 6 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Highland and East, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Property taxes are high
3. The job market situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Highland: Great for remote workers. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- East: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Fairview for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- The nightlife scene is improving

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Boston about 8 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Definitely worth checking out..

- The pet-friendliness scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.
