Longtime lurker here, The median home value here is around $377,800, which seems about average. Poverty rate is 12.8%, which is around average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a real estate agent and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.
