First post here. My partner and I are With a population of 10,094, Kendallville is a small town. The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Thoughts? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is outdoor recreation. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in legal. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Indian.
