First time home buyer in Kenmore

Been living here since 2019. Household incomes average around $137,926 in Kenmore. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I work in engineering here and the quality of life is solid. The job market for my field is pretty good. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Springfield for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
- The food scene scene is decent

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much established but now it's hit or miss.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The school system is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a nurse, 46, moved here 6 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in Midtown and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Good airport with direct flights
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The walkability situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for retirees. average vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
