Hello, I'm retired and Rent is about $1,129/month for a decent place. It's a a smaller city city with about 65,113 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. What are your go-to spots? Appreciate any input. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 7 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
