Is Kennett worth moving to in 2026?

Hey folks, The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I'm a pharmacist and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Phoenix about 13 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Lakewood for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
- The job market scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..

I work in marketing here and it exceeded my expectations. The job market for my field is better than expected. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Old Town. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in retail. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like seafood.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is solid in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Miami about 9 years ago. The main reasons were weather and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is tough.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth checking out..

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.
