Things Kennett needs to improve
Anyone else feel this way? I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Homes are going for about $103,600 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Kennett sits at 879.8 per 100K. With a population of 10,236, Kennett is a small town. Poverty rate is 12.0%, which is around average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
Pros:
- Great weather
- Nice parks and trails
- Growing food scene
- Low taxes
Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited public transit
- Cold winters
- High property taxes
What are your go-to spots? TIA! It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.
