Kennewick is underrated, change my mind

I keep seeing people overlook Kennewick when talking about great places to live. With a population of 84,389, it's big enough to have everything you need but small enough to feel like a community. The food scene is amazing. Weather is moderate — about 57F average.

Check out the Southside area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

The job market has been improving lately. Several government companies moved in recently.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is the west side tends to be more affordable. Makes a big difference.

Been here 20 years. The city has changed a lot but overall for the better.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 8/10.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

Respectfully disagree about the job market. In my experience, there are good opportunities if you network.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Rent tip: look for places in October-November. Prices drop and there's more availability.

Don't sleep on Highland Park. It's up and coming and still affordable.

If you can afford it, Oakwood is the best place to live. Period.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

I'd add that the school system has been improving steadily. Otherwise spot on!
