Been living here since 2024. With a population of 99,147, Kenosha is a smaller city.

I've lived in Riverside for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- The safety scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for work and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The healthcare is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I work in consulting here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is better than expected. Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Lakewood area are challenging. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 9 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value safety, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely improving and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely better than expected and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Uptown) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
