Day-to-day life in Kenosha, WI

Hey folks, We have two kids and Homes are going for about $210,500 on average. Household incomes average around $68,532 in Kenosha. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Any advice would be great.

I'm a teacher and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 9 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Uptown for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
- The outdoor recreation scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
