Hello, I've been here for 1 years and Crime rate is something to consider -Kenosha sits at 310.2 per 100K. With a population of 99,147, Kenosha is a smaller city. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is improving in most areas.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Portland it's better than expected.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The school system is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 4 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a real estate agent, 54, moved here 1 years ago from Seattle. I've lived in Midtown and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Diverse dining options
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Property taxes are high
3. The healthcare situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for young professionals. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Seattle, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $90K-$130K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Sunset. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in construction. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 8 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. the quality of life is solid.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.
