Top 5 things I love about Kentwood

Anyone else feel this way? Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What are your go-to spots?

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great farm-to-table places. the quality of life is solid.

Bought a house here in 2018 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Tampa about 9 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is solid.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Seattle about 7 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if weather matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community vibe is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..
