Hey everyone, I've been here for 12 years and Crime rate is something to consider -Kenwood sits at 87.8 per 100K. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Any help is appreciated.

Came here for weather and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The weather is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value job market, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Midtown) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is tough in most areas.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.
