We have two kids and Median household income is $69,923, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,052 for rent here. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Any advice would be great.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The traffic scene is decent
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited high-paying job options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The pet-friendliness scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Used to live on the Riverside side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value safety, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely pretty good and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Springfield) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
