Curious what people think. We're a young couple and The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,052 for rent here. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Chicago about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is solid.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Feel free to reach out with questions..

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Westside area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 13 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Bought a house here in 2022 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Houston about 2 years ago. The main reasons were school and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is excellent.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.
