Random thought, I'm a remote worker and Household incomes average around $69,923 in Kernersville. Homes are going for about $264,000 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Looking forward to hearing from you all. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Miami about 13 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is solid in most areas.
