I'm a remote worker and Rent is about $2,285/month for a decent place. With a population of 13,866, Kettering is a small town. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Has anyone dealt with this? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 2 years ago. The main reasons were work and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is underrated.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I work in construction here and it exceeded my expectations. The job market for my field is better than expected. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I work in tech here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is improving. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
