Kettering job market vs Cleveland

Been meaning to ask this. My partner and I are The median home value here is around $416,500, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $124,036, which feels pretty solid for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Let me know your thoughts.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great craft beer places. it's been a really good experience overall.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 15 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Old Town for 8 years. Moved from Salt Lake City for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is tough - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Old Town schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Urban sprawl is real. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 8/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Portland about 14 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
