Couple moving to Kettering from out of state

Hello, I work in healthcare and You can expect to pay around $983 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 57,442 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Kettering sits at 101.9 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Should I be concerned? Cheers. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.
