Hello, I relocated for work and Household incomes average around $71,619 in Kettering. You can expect to pay around $983 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What do you all think? Thanks in advance! Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from LA about 11 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.
