What surprised you most about Key Largo?

Random thought, You can expect to pay around $1,889 for rent here. Household incomes average around $78,906 in Key Largo. Crime rate is something to consider -Key Largo sits at 2,771.8 per 100K. With a population of 12,069, Key Largo is a small town. Rent is about $1,889/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Growing food scene
- Lots of new development
- Plenty of shopping options
- Active local events

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Not enough green space
What are your go-to spots? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
