So, I'm retired and The unemployment rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 5.3%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Key West sits at 391.0 per 100K. Average temperature is around 77--F, so it's warm year-round. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What would you do? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services.
