OK so I'm retired and Poverty rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I overthinking this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've lived in Riverside for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Diverse dining options
- The walkability scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. No regrets on my end..
