Living in Keystone -the reality

Hey, My partner and I are Poverty rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. With a population of 26,723, Keystone is a smaller city. Household incomes average around $155,365 in Keystone. Average temperature is around 73--F, so it's warm year-round. Median household income is $155,365, which feels pretty solid for the area. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Good schools
- Close to nature
- Easy commute
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Limited dining options
- High property taxes
- Limited cultural events
- Chain restaurants dominate
Thanks in advance! Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 25, moved here 1 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Sunset and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Decent public transit for the size
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The cultural scene situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Sunset: Great for retirees. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $60K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
