Moving to Kilgore -what should I know?

I'm a college student here and Homes are going for about $154,600 on average. Household incomes average around $58,141 in Kilgore. Poverty rate is 16.7%, which is higher than I expected. It's a a small town city with about 13,444 people. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Thoughts? Thanks! The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.
