OK so I'm retired and Poverty rate is 14.0%, which is around average. The unemployment rate is 6.2%, which is concerning. With a population of 156K, Killeen is a mid-size city. The median home value here is around $196,000, which is actually reasonable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Any advice would be great. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
