Random thought, I'm a teacher here and The median home value here is around $257,700, which seems about average. With a population of 1,361, Kilmarnock is a small town. The unemployment rate is 4.3%, which is about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Kilmarnock sits at 70.9 per 100K. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Worth the trade-offs? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
