Couple moving to King from out of state

You can expect to pay around $1,082 for rent here. Rent is about $1,082/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Thoughts? The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Oak Park. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in retail. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
