What Kingman does better than anywhere else
First post here. I'm single, late 40s, and Rent is about $990/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Kingman sits at 326.8 per 100K. Poverty rate is 8.7%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $60,418, which feels about average for the area. The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good.
Pros:
- Growing food scene
- Lots of new development
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community
Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Boring for young people
- Homelessness issues downtown
The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.
