Random thought, My family moved here when I was a kid. Crime rate is something to consider -Kingston sits at 153.3 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 13,333 people. Median household income is $53,885, which feels on the lower side for the area. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What neighborhoods would you suggest? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in Westside for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The dating scene scene is solid
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Close to major attractions
- The dating scene scene is average
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
