Working in Kingston -salaries realistic?

I'm retired and Crime rate is something to consider -Kingston sits at 153.3 per 100K. With a population of 13,333, Kingston is a small town. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
