How is the nightlife in Kingston?

Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What would you do? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 9 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a data analyst and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.
