Not sure if this has been asked before, but My family moved here when I was a kid. Rent is about $822/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Thanks for reading. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.

Moved here from Tampa about 9 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to safety but It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 3 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The walkability is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
