Honest thoughts on life in Kirkland

Hi all, Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $1,022,500, which is pretty steep. You can expect to pay around $2,342 for rent here. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Has anyone dealt with this? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Nashville about 1 years ago. The main reasons were work and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are reasonable, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
