What's it really like living in Kirkland?

Random thought, My partner and I are Median household income is $143,533, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $2,342/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Tampa about 7 years ago. The main reasons were weather and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is improving.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. No regrets on my end..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely underrated and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Westside) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 6 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
